Laura Geiger – Counsel

Laura helps corporate policyholders with all aspects of their insurance programs.  Laura has negotiated the terms of, submitted claims under, and litigated claims involving commercial general liability, directors & officers, errors & omissions, employment practices liability, commercial crime, cyber, first party property and business interruption and pollution liability policies. Because of the breadth and depth of her insurance counseling and litigation experience, Laura is often called upon to advise on insurance issues during corporate transactions. She works with due diligence teams to understand and limit risks and liabilities regarding pre- and post-transaction claims, occurrences and events. She also analyzes the sufficiency of insurance for those risks and liabilities, including the scope of coverage and available limits. Laura drafts and negotiates terms relating to insurance and indemnification in transaction agreements and related documents, as well as the terms of any new insurance policies or endorsements to current policies, in order to provide the broadest possible coverage to her clients.

Before joining Hoke LLC, Laura was co-chair of the Corporate and Transactional Subgroup of the Insurance Recovery Group at a large international law firm. Her representations have encompassed clients ranging in size from Fortune 500 corporations to family-owned businesses. She is familiar with a wide spectrum of manufacturing and service industry sectors, including energy, financial institutions, media, retail and food manufacturing.
